Hiking, Fishing & More
The Nebraska Sandhills are a unique land formation, the largest grass-covered body of sand in the Western Hemisphere. The area is speckled with groundwater lakes, creating a diverse ecology, both in plants and animals. Garden County is home to the 45,849 acre Crescent Lake National Wildlife Reserve, at the southern tip of the Sandhills, which offers a serene backdrop to one of the most diverse birding locations in the nation. The site also offers boating (non-combustion), hiking, fishing, and hunting, as well as information on the flora and fauna.
